Frozen Food Air Fryer Calculator
Read the oven temperature and minutes on the box, tap a food type for typical starting values, then get air fryer settings tuned for frozen breaded foods — without using the general preset by accident.

Cook from frozen unless the package says otherwise. Shake or flip halfway. If the basket is very full, add a few minutes — or use the crowded preset on the general air fryer converter.
Tips for crisp frozen results
- Preheat the air fryer when the manual recommends it — cold baskets extend the first minutes.
- Lightly oil only if the package suggests it; many coated foods already contain fat.
- Shake fries and nuggets halfway; flip thicker fillets or personal pizzas if they fit.
- Check internal temperature for raw frozen chicken — packaging times assume fully cooked products.

FAQ
- Should I thaw frozen food before air frying?
- Usually no — most breaded frozen foods are designed to go straight from freezer to heat. Thawing first can make coatings soggy. Follow your package unless it explicitly says to defrost.
- Why is the temperature drop smaller for frozen foods?
- Frozen items need a strong outside heat to drive off ice and brown the coating before the centre turns mushy. This calculator uses the frozen preset from our conversion engine, which applies a gentler temperature reduction than general foods but still shortens time.
- The package only lists a fan oven — what do I pick?
- Choose Fan / convection in step 4. If the box shows a conventional oven icon or no fan symbol, pick Conventional. When in doubt, start on the lower end of the suggested air fryer time and check colour.
- Can I cook a full bag at once?
- Overfilling blocks airflow and adds time. Cook in batches for crisp results, or use the crowded preset on the general air fryer conversion calculator if you are scaling from a known oven recipe.
